Architectural Sales Representative

Job Summary

Develop and maintain relationships with architects, designers, developers, national accounts, and commercial contractors to increase product specifications and sales opportunities. Manage specification opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-design and design through bidding, construction, and closeout. Identify project scope and product opportunities, conduct in-person meetings, prepare MAPEI-specific specifications, and follow projects through review and bid activity. Deliver continuing-education programs and technical product presentations to the architectural and design community. Partner with sales representatives and distributor partners to pursue major commercial projects and coordinate customer activity. Maintain accurate project, account, and specification information while ensuring compliance with BMS and EHS policy requirements. Represent MAPEI at trade shows, industry events, and professional association activities.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, design, construction management, business, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with architects, designers, specifications, or commercial construction projects
  • Knowledge of specification development, building codes, construction materials, and the phases of commercial design and construction
  • Ability to interpret project requirements and prepare clear, accurate technical specifications and related documentation
  • Strong sales, presentation, relationship-building, negotiation, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • CSI, CDT, LEED AP, CTR, or comparable industry certification
  • Active participation in CSI, AIA, or another relevant industry organization
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills
