Job Summary
Architectural Product Designer / Estimator drives the transformation of architectural intent into tangible products. Read and interpret complex blueprints and specifications, perform takeoffs, and prepare detailed project quotations using established methods and Excel-based formulas. Collaborate with Architects and customers to refine designs from concept to finished product, and lead cross-functional coordination across Production, Engineering, Sales, outside reps, and subcontractors. Seek competitive pricing through vendor/subcontractor quotes, anticipate customer needs, and resolve issues while applying policy-guided judgment. This role blends design influence with practical fabrication know-how, requiring precision, problem-solving, and cross-department collaboration to deliver customized metal architectural solutions. The position is Hybrid Remote with the primary location in Carbondale, PA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes
- Familiarity with fabrication equipment such as shears, brakes, CNC punch, lasers, welders, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret complex architectural blueprints and create accurate takeoffs
- Strong mathematical computation skills
- Excel proficiency
- Strong interpersonal, telephone, and presentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple organizational levels
- Solid understanding of general office procedures
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Sound decision-making skills within policy guidelines
