Job Summary

Mid-to-senior Architectural Designer/Contract Administrator role in a Toronto-area firm. Responsibilities include field visits and site reports for assigned projects, ensuring high-quality technical standards with Partners and Project Architects, and providing design feedback. Requires extensive Revit expertise, experience with mid-to-large projects ($10–$120M), knowledge of CCDC docs, field-report generation, and strong drawing/documentation skills. Travel to sites weekly with occasional overnights. Bachelor of Architecture and Architectural Technologist credentials preferred; CCCA training and OAA registration encouraged. Proficiency with Bluebeam, Wrike, and cloud-based CCA tools; comfort with building science fundamentals and OBC/fire-rating considerations. Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years work experience; Architectural Technologist, Bachelor of Architecture credentials
  • Preference to candidates with CCCA training from the CSC or OAA registered candidates
  • Solid Revit skills
  • Minimum 3+ years as a CA completing field reports on mid to larger projects valued at $10-$120 million
  • Driver's license; ability to travel to sites once per week; occasionally stay overnight (costs covered by the employer)
  • PDF sheet of projects from the past 5 years, ideally in community-based projects such as schools, senior homes, and recreation centers
  • Solid OBC, fire ratings and building science fundamentals; ability to provide design feedback and anticipate design issues to suggest substitutions that meet design specifications
  • Persons familiar with CCDC contract documentation; with CCDC-5B
  • Ensure high-quality drawings and documentation to reduce rework, errors and omissions
  • Strong troubleshooting; the ability to deal with headstrong personalities; solve evolving design needs that meet budget and timelines
  • Solid Revit; Bluebeam, PM software such as Wrike; experience in cloud based CCA software such as Rform
