Job Summary
Architect I role supports development of design and documentation. At this level, the individual begins to assume some independent responsibility for producing portions of design and documentation. Responsibilities include contributing to conceptual and schematic design, design development, and construction documents; coordinating with JCJ team members and sub-consultants; preparing and delivering client presentations both in person and virtually; participating in project meetings; applying knowledge of architectural design approaches, space planning, and building codes; leveraging Revit/AutoCAD for drawings; assisting with material selections, detailing, and cost-related considerations; and contributing to business development collateral when needed. The candidate should demonstrate five or more years of experience, independent judgment in evaluating standard techniques, and the ability to work under supervision while meeting project schedules. Knowledge areas include construction documentation, coordination with engineering disciplines, familiarity with ADA and life/safety codes, and proficiency in digital file management and design software (Revit, AutoCAD, 3D rendering). Travel to work sites may be required; overtime may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years’ experience in architectural practice
- 2+ years creating design solutions
- Advanced computer and information management skills (Revit, AutoCAD)
- MS Office Suite – Excel, Word, MS Project
- 3D rendering capability
