Job Summary
Architects are needed in Houston, TX to lead projects from concept through design development, construction documents, permitting, and construction administration. Responsibilities include providing zoning and code knowledge, technical guidance, and innovative design solutions; developing multiple design strategies and material selections; leading all project phases; coordinating with design teams, clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies; performing occupancy studies and zoning analyses; producing detailed 2D/3D drawings and specifications; managing construction administration, reviewing RFIs and shop drawings, and conducting site visits; coordinating with structural, MEP, lighting, acoustic, landscape, civil and other consultants; pursuing sustainability integration and project certifications. Incidental telecommuting may apply. Must have a Master’s degree or equivalent, or a bachelor’s degree with five years of progressive design experience, plus experience with BIM tools and design phases; license required; equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Architecture or related field
- 2 years of design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) with BIM/tools proficiency
- Valid Architect License
- Proficiency translating sketches into 2D/3D models and drawings using BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Grasshopper, Rhino, SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Enscape) and related design documentation
