Job Summary
Conduct desktop reviews, field surveys, and resource assessments to identify, document, and evaluate precontact and historic sites within Big Cypress National Preserve. Draft coordination correspondence with Native American Tribes and the State Historic Preservation Officer, and prepare presentations for NEPA compliance and Section 106 consultation. Provide subject-matter expertise to park leadership by summarizing complex archaeological information and reviewing project proposals for cultural resource impacts. Work closely with management to advance work under the Programmatic Agreement with the Seminole Tribe. Perform moderate physical activity including walking long distances in challenging terrain and lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires minimum of 15 years of cultural resources management experience or MA/MS degree in Archaeology with one year additional experience. Wage is $55.00 per hour for 20 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in Cultural Resources Management within a Federal land management agency
- MA/MS Degree in Archaeology with minimum additional experience of 1 year(s)
- Meet or exceed Secretary of the Interior (SOI) Professional Qualifications Standards for Archeology
- Experience with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with agency-specific systems such as the PEPC system and ESRI ArcGIS programs
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be capable of moderate physical activity such as walking long distances in challenging terrain and under challenging environmental conditions
- Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States
