Job Summary

Conduct archaeological monitoring, surveys, testing, excavation, and data recovery for construction projects across Southern California. Document field observations, maintain accurate records, and support cultural resource investigations while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Travel throughout Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties to support project assignments, communicating effectively with project managers, clients, and agency representatives. This on-call role requires a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology or Archaeology, five years of CRM field experience, and the ability to walk up to five miles daily on uneven terrain while lifting 30 pounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cultural Resources Management (CRM) field archaeology
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations applicable to archaeology and cultural resources
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Experience using modern communication tools, including email, telephone, and video conferencing platforms
  • Valid California driver's license
  • Ability to travel throughout California as needed
  • Ability to work independently in field environments
  • Ability to walk up to 5 miles per day on uneven terrain
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Physical capability to perform fieldwork under varying environmental conditions
