Archaeological Technician

Job Summary
Conduct archaeological field surveys including shovel testing and site documentation while collecting GPS data for observations. Clean, label, catalog, and curate artifacts according to lab standards and assist with maintaining field and laboratory equipment. Support preparation of documentation and reports for cultural resource management compliance while collaborating on team safety and quality. This role involves working outdoors in diverse terrain and weather conditions with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Assignments are temporary and on-call with varying schedules based on client demand.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field from an accredited college or university
- Completion of a university-based archaeological field school
- Minimum of 3–6 months of archaeological field and/or lab experience preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in diverse terrain and weather conditions on a regular basis
- Physical ability to walk, bend, kneel, dig with hand tools, and stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40–50 pounds, including field equipment, soil samples, or artifact containers
- Willingness and ability to travel for field assignments as needed
