Job Summary
Ground Operations Technician/Arborist Trainee based in Truro, NS, responsible for learning and performing tasks across felling, climbing, rigging, equipment operation, and vegetation management. Duties include manual vegetation removal, operating forestry equipment (woodchipper, hydraulic equipment, chainsaws), line clearance, pruning, and removals. Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- Must have a current and valid driver’s license
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work at heights up to 75 feet
- Willingness to learn operating bucket truck and equipment safely
- Willingness to obtain CDL Class 3 license
- Must successfully complete post-offer physical & drug screen as well as background and motor vehicle check
- Willingness to obtain First Aid and WHMIS Certifications
- Willingness to obtain and maintain licenses & certifications as required by the position
