Arboriculture Internship

Job Summary
Conduct hands-on arboriculture tasks including pruning, rigging, cabling, bracing, root collar excavations, and removals. Maintain and operate equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts. Perform property inspections, identify insects and diseases, manage integrated pest programs, and conduct soil sampling. Complete record-keeping, report writing, and client relations duties. Participate in safety meetings and develop professional relationships within a multi-disciplinary team. Work 40 hours per week for 8-12 weeks starting in May. Gain practical field experience in scientific tree and shrub care on commercial and residential properties.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Turfgrass, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Plant Science, Outdoor Recreation, Agriculture or a related field
- Interest in working outdoors in all weather conditions
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team
