Job Summary
Arabic Iraqi language instruction for remote distance-learning in LREC program; delivers virtual instruction across Listening, Reading, and Speaking (L/R/S) measured by DLPT, ACTFL, or OPI; teaches regional culture topics using blended-learning methodologies; develops lesson plans and materials, assesses student progress (IlR 0+ to 3), provides feedback, maintains a positive virtual learning environment, and collaborates with the Site Lead, POI analyst, and Language Instructional Developer to address curriculum gaps. Requires US citizenship; Bachelor’s Degree desired; must have access to required tech setup and experience with online platforms such as CL-150 or Blackboard is desirable. Location is remote with no travel.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Educated native speaker or near-native capability in listening, reading, and speaking with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent
- Experience providing foreign language instruction via virtual environment
- Understanding of cultural, social, and political environment of the foreign language region
- Experience creating blended learning lessons and tailoring materials to customer needs
- Access to Windows computer, webcam, headset with microphone, phone or tablet, and high-speed internet
