Job Summary
Provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings, translating orally between Arabic and English in both directions. Deliver accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community contexts while maintaining high fidelity to original communication. Work effectively with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds to meet the needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, and community organizations. Maintain a valid California license and obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination records and background checks, as necessary. Assignments are based in San Bernardino, CA, on a regular basis depending on demand for specific languages and qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in both Arabic and English
- Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings, with the highest level of fidelity to the original communication
- Strong ability to interpret orally between Arabic and English in both directions
- Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
- Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
- Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary
- Possession of a valid California license
