Job Summary
Accounts Receivable Specialist for Optima Dermatology's dermatology practice support center. Responsible for resolving aging claims, denials, and secondary claims; posting EOBs/payments/adjustments; researching and resolving claim processing issues; managing patient accounts and inquiries; educating patients on costs and payment options; verifying eligibility; and collaborating with payers, EDI, and internal teams to improve billing procedures. Must demonstrate strong customer service, communication, and HIPAA-compliant practices, with experience in CPT/ICD-10, HCFA 1500, and payer guidelines. Remote opportunities are available for residents of ME, NH, MA, IN, OH, FL, and NC; primary site based in Portsmouth, NH.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years in healthcare reimbursement (preferred).
- CPT and ICD-10 coding knowledge.
- Payer billing guidelines, submission, and remittance processes.
- HCFA 1500 forms and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a demanding environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance.
