Collect residential and commercial refuse on designated routes and assist in completing all routes under direct supervision. Perform curbside pickup in residential areas using pitchforks, shovels, and hand tools to gather general refuse, garbage, recyclables, and yard trash. Ride with the truck to disposal or recycling centers, assisting the operator with off-loading, fueling, and checking fluid levels. Clean out trucks, including the cab interior, daily upon route completion. This heavy manual labor involves considerable physical exertion and close daily contact with unpleasant materials, requiring the ability to lift and handle 50 pounds. Employees work outdoors regardless of weather conditions as part of a crew closely supervised by the truck driver.
