Job Summary
Aquatics Manager leads the aquatics department across Life Time facilities, overseeing staffing, training, safety, budgeting, and member services. Responsibilities include supervising Aquatics Team Members (lifeguards, swim instructors/coaches), conducting daily pool-area inspections for cleanliness and safety, facilitating lifeguard training and rescue techniques, coaching and developing staff, managing the department within budget, and delivering exceptional member experiences. The role requires ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping, tread water for 1 minute, and lift 20+ lbs as needed, with relevant certifications (StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, First Aid; Lifesaving Society certification for Canada), and preferred advanced credentials such as PHTA Certified Pool Operator and Lifeguard Instructor Trainer. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of customer service experience
- 2 years of coaching and/or swim instructor experience
- 2 years of lifeguarding experience
- 2 years of supervisory/management experience
- StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certification (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year)
- For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C
- Successfully complete Life Time Swim Certification
- Successfully complete and pass Aquatics Manager Training
