Job Summary
Lifeguard and swim-instructor roles at the YMCA of Niagara staff aquatic programs: provide safe supervision, deliver swim instruction per YMCA Canada guidelines, ensure member safety and well-being, support administrative tasks, engage with children positively, maintain clean and safe program spaces, and participate in training while upholding child protection policies; strong emphasis on water safety, communication, teamwork, and delivering quality YMCA experiences.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a recreational setting
- Current Intermediate/Standard First Aid/CPR[C] – certificate meeting O.Reg 565 Public Pool Regulations
- Current NLS and YMCA Swim Instructors or equivalent and LS Lifesaving Instructors within 2 years from issue date
- YMCA Aquatic Fitness certification or equivalent (recommended)
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and submit a PVSC (criminal reference check) inclusive of the vulnerable sector search issued for YMCA of Niagara
