Job Summary
The Aquatics Director leads and manages the aquatics team and operations of a large indoor/outdoor aquatics center with five pools, two whirlpools, water slides and water park play structures, and coordinates a full calendar of aquatics programming including lessons, teams, and special events. Responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, and training all aquatics staff, developing an annual budget and strategic plan, and helping develop the aquatics program calendar. Requires strong leadership, budget planning, program development, customer service, and communication skills; must work with minimal supervision. Qualifications emphasize two+ years of management experience, First Aid/CPR certification, and Water Safety Instructor certification or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- First Aid/CPR certifications required prior to hire date
- Position requires First Aid/CPR certification for professional rescuers
- Must be certified as Water Safety Instructor or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid Instructor certification preferred
- Minimum two years of college education required; Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred
- Two years of management/supervisory experience in a similar aquatics department
