Job Summary
Lead department staff by scheduling and training personnel while teaching aquatics-based merit badge lessons to groups of 2-24 youth. Present knowledge effectively, model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions, and ensure all program areas remain clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe. Assist with set-up, maintenance, and take down of program areas, and turn in advancement paperwork to your supervisor in a timely manner. Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership while abiding by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook. Work 45-55 hours daily standing, walking, swimming, and paddling up to 8 hours, with the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record including height/weight guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 21+
- Current Red Cross Lifeguard instructor certification or ability to obtain before the start of the season
- Current NCS Aquatics Director card or ability to obtain before the start of the season
- Required 2+ yr. leading teams, prefer 2+ Summit employment
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
- Ability to stand, walk, swim, and paddle up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
