Job Summary
Aquatics Coordinator responsible for ensuring patron safety, maintaining the pool in accordance with Aquatics Department and Health Department standards, and managing aquatics programming. Duties include scheduling aquatics staff shifts, developing and maintaining programming calendars, ensuring regulatory and safety compliance, pool chemical balance, training staff on emergency policies, incident reporting, and delivering exceptional customer service to YMCA members. Requires interacting with Branch Leadership, adapting to a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends, and upholding YMCA values. Location: Alpharetta, GA (Ed Isakson / Alpharetta YMCA).
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in public administration, exercise science or related field OR High school diploma and 1+ years of aquatics experience
- Current lifeguard certification
- Certified Pool Operator (within 6 months of hire)
- Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and Oxygen (02) Training, and First Aid/CPR training within 30 days of hire
- Y-USA Leader Certification (within 90 days of hire)
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Effective problem-solving skills, multi-tasking, and strong organizational skills
- Excellent customer service experience/standards
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Understanding of risk management issues and safety requirements for the facility
- The ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner, upholding the YMCA values
