Job Summary
Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes to accomplish the YMCA mission, modifying movements to meet varied health, ability, and cultural needs. Build authentic relationships with members by answering questions, celebrating achievements, and fostering community connection while maintaining a welcoming environment for all skill levels. Obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire, complete Foundations of Group Exercise training, and keep accurate class attendance records. Assist in fundraising activities and special events as designated by the Branch Executive Director, following all YMCA policies and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 18
- CPR/AED & First Aid certification
- New Employee Orientation certification
- Foundations of Group Exercise certification
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate effectively
- High level of alertness, concentration, and initiative
- Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform job responsibilities
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

- Passion for learning, working with youth/families, and sports in general
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
