Job Summary
Maintain animal life support systems including plumbing, pumps, filters, and heaters while executing assigned maintenance schedules. Perform fish feeding shows via diving and narration, and conduct water quality tests using multiple instruments to analyze trends. Provide husbandry care for snakes, alligators, and ducks by preparing diets, performing biopsies, and assisting in parasite identification. Complete record keeping for exhibits and distribute diets for all animals. Travel to local sites to perform maintenance tasks and pick up supplies. Provide objective reporting on animal behavior and health. Requires scuba certification, First Aid/CPR training, and a valid driver's license. Full-time role with flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Scuba diver
- Certified First Aid / CPR Class
- E driver's license
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must be at least 21 years old to qualify for this position
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift, push or pull 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible schedule that includes weekends, evenings and holidays
