Job Summary
Teach aquatic exercise classes in a professional and safe manner to members and guests, providing modifications for varying fitness levels. Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency procedures and communicate confidently with EMS. Maintain industry certification in good standing, meet continuing education requirements, and ensure proper setup, cleanup, and punctuality for scheduled sessions. Provide a fun and engaging experience while accommodating flexible center hours. CPR/AED certification is required within 90 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire
- Certification for some specialty group exercise class instruction is required
- Must possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor
- Must meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures
- confidence communicating with EMS
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in group class instruction, teaching a variety of styles, levels and population preferred
- A group exercise instructor certification preferred
- Preferably an NCCA accredited certification
