Job Summary
Teach aquatic exercise classes professionally and safely, providing modifications for varying fitness levels while adhering to specialty certification guidelines. Ensure proper setup, on-time start and end, and thorough cleanup after each session, maintaining accountability by avoiding missed classes or securing substitutes in advance. Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency procedures and communicate effectively with EMS when needed. Maintain industry certifications in good standing, meet continuing education requirements, and provide a fun, engaging experience for participants. Work flexible hours to accommodate center schedules.
Required Qualifications
- CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire
- Certification for some specialty group exercise class instruction is required
- Must possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor
- Must meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures
- confidence communicating with EMS
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in group class instruction, teaching a variety of styles, levels and population preferred
- A group exercise instructor certification preferred
- Preferably an NCCA accredited certification
