Job Summary
Plan and teach aqua fitness classes including warm-up, cardiovascular, strength, and cool-down segments while demonstrating proper techniques and offering modifications for varying abilities. Maintain a safe environment by monitoring participants, enforcing pool rules, and following YMCA safety standards. Set up, clean, and store aquatic equipment before and after each class. Build positive relationships with members to encourage regular participation and communicate any incidents or concerns to the Aquatics Director. Attend staff meetings, required trainings, and maintain current certifications. Join the 30-person team at Ashland Area YMCA in Ashland, KY, offering flexible morning scheduling and free membership.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
- Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm and leadership in a group setting
- Strong communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills
