Job Summary
Provide high-quality, part-time AP/WH/AP Gov tutoring to K-12 and AP students after school, following the school’s curriculum and educational philosophy. Deliver engaging lessons aligned with prescribed curriculum and learning goals; assess student progress and provide feedback to students and guardians; maintain accurate records; collaborate with teachers and staff; communicate with parents about progress; participate in professional development; adhere to policies; perform other duties as assigned. Tutor in-person after school Mon-Thu 1:00 PM–9:00 PM and Saturdays 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (location varies). Requires Bachelor’s degree or higher, eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship, and a diagnostic score at the 95th percentile on SAT/AP/ACT; two years of teaching experience preferred. Location: San Diego, CA area (San Diego & Rancho Bernardo) with part-time schedule and benefits including 401(k) match and employee discounts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Score at the 95th percentile on our diagnostic SAT, AP, or ACT test
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a relevant subject area
- Experience developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
- Experience using technology to enhance teaching and learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents
- Proficiency in using educational technology and software
- Demonstrated commitment to student success
- Ability to work effectively in a part-time capacity
