Job Summary
Part-time Regular Professor position teaching Business Case Development for Master's students, emphasizing how to leverage core technology to strengthen proposals and influence stakeholders. Course covers identifying stakeholders, conducting market and financial analyses, assessing risks, presenting persuasive arguments, and integrating core technology to align with organizational goals. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering (MBA or Master’s preferred; PhD asset) with substantial senior-level experience in technology project initiation and business-case development. The course is scheduled Friday evenings at the University of Ottawa’s Main Campus in English, spanning 1.5 credits with a pay rate listed at $239.47 for teaching; applicants should have relevant post-secondary teaching or professional development experience and a strong track record in engineering management or technology leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering required
- Master's in management or engineering preferred
- PhD an asset
- solid industry track record in professional and managerial role(s) related to technology project initiation, development and business case development and/or review and selection required
- Experience as COO or higher ranking role in engineering management in a technical/technological firm is strongly preferred
- Experience in post-secondary teaching and/or professional development instruction preferred
- Qualified candidates should have an MBA or equivalent Master's level degree and bring several years professional experience at a senior level in a technology environment
