Job Summary
Observation, reflection, and practice teaching in the intermediate/senior division classrooms as identified by the Ontario regs; associate teacher provides mentoring and formative/summative evaluations of teacher candidates, with ten in-person sessions on campus and two online Brightspace modules (equivalent to 6 instructional hours). Part-time position from Sept 1, 2026 to Apr 30, 2027. Requires a Masters degree in education, qualification to teach in Ontario, and recent teaching or school-administration experience at the Primary Junior level; knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum and Ethical Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers. Hybrid format located at the University of Ottawa Main Campus with in-person and online components.
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in education
- Qualification in a field related to teaching in Ontario
- Recent experience in teaching in a school or working in administration of a school board at the Primary Junior level
- Knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum and of the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers
