Job Summary
Teach Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) in a Regular Part-Time Professor role for the MIA5150 course, covering lifecycle from model development to deployment. Responsibilities include delivering content on Transformer families, diffusion models, GANs, VAEs, RAG, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, multimodal AI systems, and accountability practices. Create labs, projects, and case studies; assess student performance; and translate advanced AI concepts into applied learning experiences using industry-standard tools (Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, vector databases) with a focus on safe, scalable deployment. Coursework is conducted in English and online, with a fixed Friday evening schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, DTI, Engineering, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated expertise in Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) including Transformers, diffusion models, GANs, VAEs, RAG, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and multimodal AI systems
- Experience developing or applying modern AI/ML workflows using Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, vector databases, and cloud-based AI platforms
- Knowledge of AI deployment practices, including inference optimization, parameter-efficient training, model evaluation, safety, alignment, responsible AI, and scalable deployment architectures
- Teaching experience at the graduate/undergraduate level in AI/ML/Data Science related disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex AI concepts into applied, industry-relevant learning experiences through lectures, labs, projects, and case studies
- Relevant industry experience in AI/ML development, applied Generative AI, MLOps or AI product development is considered an asset
