Job Summary
Two 19.5-hour-per-week Part-Time Professor positions for the Mindful Aging course (AHL3180) offered bimodally, with courses scheduled Tuesdays 8:30-11:30. Responsibilities include teaching university-level content in Contemplative/Aging/End-of-Life Studies, engaging students through reflection and discussion, and fostering age-positive cultural perspectives. Preference given to applicants with relevant scholarly research and publications in contemplative studies and mindfulness practice, and who have training in meditation/mindfulness. The appointment is governed by applicable collective agreements and the University of Ottawa’s emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion; accommodation requests during recruitment are encouraged. Start date for the Fall 2026 term; two positions available at 19.5 hours each; salary composed of hourly rate of 239.47 for each position, applied to annual workload corresponding to 19.5 hours per week for the academic year.
Required Qualifications
- Experience of successfully teaching university-level content in the field of Contemplative/Aging/End-of-Life Studies.
