APRN/PA - Outpatient Medical Weight Management Clinic

Job Summary

Provide comprehensive outpatient evaluation and management for patients with obesity and associated metabolic conditions, including detailed assessments and development of individualized treatment plans incorporating lifestyle modification, nutrition counseling, physical activity recommendations, and pharmacologic therapies. Prescribe and manage FDA-approved anti-obesity medications while monitoring treatment effectiveness and patient progress. Evaluate and manage obesity-related comorbidities such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and obstructive sleep apnea, and order and interpret relevant diagnostic testing. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, bariatric surgery units, and learners to coordinate care, provide longitudinal follow-up, and participate in the academic mission through education, conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States
  • Master's Degree in Nursing – Family Medicine or Adult Gero Primary Care
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
  • APRN License
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience
  • One (1) year of APRN experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic
  • National certification in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gero Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, and Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Master's Degree – Physician Assistant
  • One (1) year of PA experience in a Family Medicine or Adult Gero Primary Care
  • PA License
  • APRN License
  • Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based obesity medicine guidelines and emerging therapies
  • Maintain professional licensure, certifications, and credentialing requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • DNP
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience
  • Three (3) years of APRN experience in a Family Medicine or Adult Gero Primary Care
  • Previous experience in infectious diseases, internal medicine, primary care, hospital medicine, or related specialty
  • Experience managing chronic infectious diseases
  • Experience working in an academic medical center environment
  • Interest in antimicrobial stewardship, quality improvement, or clinical education
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Previous experience in obesity medicine, endocrinology, primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, bariatrics, or lifestyle medicine
  • Experience managing chronic metabolic diseases and anti-obesity pharmacotherapy
  • Experience managing chronic infectious diseases
  • Experience working in an academic medical center environment
  • Interest in antimicrobial stewardship, quality improvement, or clinical education
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Previous experience in obesity medicine, endocrinology, primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, bariatrics, or lifestyle medicine
  • Experience managing chronic metabolic diseases and anti-obesity pharmacotherapy
