Job Summary
Assists physician in the care and teaching of patients. Writes prescriptions for medications and blood products; determines eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials; interprets test results; communicates care plans; administers therapeutic measures and collects specimens; documents patient care and discharge summaries; participates in daily multidisciplinary rounds; provides on-call coverage and hospital rounds; assists in training new employees; may work at multiple Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute locations and may require overtime as needed. Emphasizes patient privacy, HIPAA compliance, and adherence to departmental policies. Willingness to learn and adapt to changing healthcare environment; supports oncology care delivery and patient-focused service across locations specified (Fort Myers and Cape Coral).
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, master’s degree in nursing or post-masters nurse practitioner certificate program
- Licensed as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (0-3 years)
- Current license/registration to practice in the state of Florida, prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply
- Certification from AANP, ANCC, or ONCC
- BLS certified
