Job Summary
APQP Specialist for a 12-month Inside IR35 contract based in Pitstone, Hertfordshire. Responsible for ensuring engineering designs meet safety, regulatory (EASA/CAA) and customer requirements before production, with emphasis on risk mitigation and DOH-aligned airworthiness. Provides design assurance oversight per Part 21J, supports PDR/CDR and DEV stages to integrate quality, safety, and producibility, and drives defect-prevention and problem-solving using APQP, DFMEA/PFMEA, RCCA, FRACA, and PPAP/PPAP-related activities. Engages with customers and audits against ISO9001 and AS9100, facilitating NCR closeouts and customer approvals as needed; collaborates with production, engineering, configuration, and support functions to sustain 100% airworthiness and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, science, or engineering highly desirable.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in aerospace industry or equivalent at engineering, design & development, or quality positions.
- Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 QMS standards deployment and implementation.
- Understanding and demonstrated application of EASA/ CAA part 21J.
- Experience in internal and external audit and auditing techniques, lead auditor trained preferred.
- APQP Tools knowledge with proficiency demonstrated working with PPAP, FMEA and MSA.
- Problem solving proficiency including 8D, RCCA, FRACA with Six Sigma DMAIC principles and Green or Black being desired.
- Configuration and data management experience.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate technical, complex issues effectively.
- Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
