Job Summary
Lead and manage applications development teams to design, implement, and deliver banking payments software. Provide technical oversight across Java/Spring/Microservices, API development, CI/CD, observability, and architecture. Coach and mentor engineers, drive end-to-end delivery, perform design and code reviews, ensure quality and security, manage stakeholder relationships, and contribute to strategic direction and process improvements in the Applications Development domain.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 6-10 years of relevant Java and Microservices experience with people-management
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Microservices architectures
- Strong experience with API development, Observability/Monitoring stacks, Kafka and MQ messaging
- Experience with OpenShift and AWS; Docker/Kubernetes experience
- SQL databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB) experience
- Unit Testing, TDD, JUnit, Git, Jenkins, Maven; experience with CI/CD
- Experience in the Banking Payments domain (RTGS, GIRO, ACH, ISO 8583, ISO 20022, SWIFT)
- Leadership skills including coaching, performance management, and stakeholder communication
- Experience managing production releases and post-production support
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to influence architecture and technical direction
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to code quality, security, maintainability, and best practices
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
