Job Summary
The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst role in Citi’s Finance Desk Technology requires hands-on development and automation focus within a Java/Angular/C# environment on Linux, with containerized/cloud deployments. Responsibilities include identifying system enhancements, collaborating with users and tech groups, designing and maintaining automation frameworks for CI/CD, automating environment provisioning and deployment, mentoring junior analysts, integrating security tools into pipelines, promoting automation-first practices, and improving deployment speed and reliability. The candidate should produce thorough documentation, implement automated tests, create data provisioning scripts and synthetic test data, and participate in contract testing and performance/load testing pipelines. Strong scripting (Python/Java/TypeScript/PowerShell/Bash), experience with Hibernate/JUnit/Spring Boot, relational databases (Oracle/MSSQL), and cloud/openShift/Kubernetes, plus global-team collaboration skills, are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or related field, or substantial practical experience of software delivery
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Application Development, DevOps and Automation roles
- Strong experience with Unix or Linux
- Experience with frameworks like Hibernate, Junit, Spring Boot/Microservice-style application development
- Strong experience in automation scripting (Python/Java/TypeScript/PowerShell/Bash)
- Strong experience with Relational Databases like Oracle, MSSQL
- Experience with build tools like Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, UDeploy
- Experience with cloud based architectures on OpenShift Kubernetes
- Testing and automation experience with distributed software applications
