Job Summary
Review and approve hazardous and non-hazardous materials for disposal based on site capabilities, permits, and regulatory requirements. Determine acceptability of chemical components using analytical data, MSDSs, and facility information while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory policies. Track individual profiles to meet scheduled incineration timelines, assign pricing codes to waste streams, and configure laboratory testing parameters for sample verification. Provide constructive input on policy and regulatory changes to expedite the approval process and assist in technical training for the facility. Requires OSHA HAZWOPER certification and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related discipline
- 5 to 6 years in the hazardous waste industry or related work experience
- OSHA HAZWOPER Certification
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite
- Strong team player
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines
- Strong customer orientation
Desired Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
