Job Summary
The Apprentice Service Technician role at Porsche River Oaks (Sonic Automotive) involves performing vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned, under the guidance of a Mentor/Master Technician. Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, consulting leadership when questions arise, examining vehicles for additional service recommendations, attending factory-sponsored trainings, staying current with factory bulletins, and upholding quality performance. Requires graduation from automotive technician training school, high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license and clean driving record, and U.S. work authorization with ability to pass background/MVR/drug tests. Apprenticeship includes guaranteed minimum monthly income and tuition reimbursement with a broad benefits package including health, dental, vision, FSA, disability, life insurance, legal plan, and pet insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an automotive technician training school
- Apprentice is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned
- Duties include diagnosing malfunctions, consulting Mentor/Team Leader/Shop Foreman
- Attend factory-sponsored training classes
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Graduation from a valid automotive technical training program
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Authorized to work in the USA
- Able to pass a background check, MVR, and drug test
- Apprentice Technician guaranteed a minimum monthly income during apprenticeship
