Job Summary
Teach classes on behalf of Deans and teacher-leaders, provide substitute coverage, and potentially lead your own small group or advisory period. Observe Master Teachers to refine instructional techniques, co-teach with teacher-leaders, and assist with grading, assessments, and curriculum development. Deliver daily one-on-one and small group tutoring, coordinate enrichment classes, and supervise students during transitions and meals. Implement curricula aligned with academic standards while meeting regularly with an instructional coach to implement feedback. Participate in summer and school-year professional development, including a three-week staff orientation, to develop skills for a full-time teaching position.

- Strong time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- A strong candidate will possess strong organizational skills, communication skills (particularly with children), and problem solving skills
- Interest in performing a critical support role and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, results-oriented environment
- Relentless commitment to mission of educating urban students
- Belief in and alignment with Uncommon's core beliefs and educational philosophy
- Bachelor's degree from a College or University
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working in schools and/or urban communities
- A background in education
