Job Summary
Teach classes on behalf of Deans and teacher-leaders, provide substitute coverage, and potentially lead small groups or advisory periods. Support students through daily one-on-one and small group tutoring, assist with grading and assessments, and help coordinate enrichment classes. Observe Master Teachers regularly to refine instructional techniques and meet with coaches to implement feedback. Gradually take on more responsibility by planning and delivering instruction while participating in collaborative curriculum development and school-wide events. Supervise students during transitions, meals, and afterschool activities, and communicate effectively with families and colleagues.

- Strong time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- A strong candidate will possess strong organizational skills, communication skills (particularly with children), and problem solving skills
- Interest in performing a critical support role and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, results-oriented environment
- Relentless commitment to mission of educating urban students
- Belief in and alignment with Uncommon's core beliefs and educational philosophy
- By the time that employment begins, candidates must have received a Bachelor's degree from a College or University
- A background in education is not required, though candidates should show a demonstrated passion for working with K-12 students
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working in schools and/or urban communities is preferred but not required
