Apprentice Service Technician

Job Summary
Apprentice Service Technician responsible for repair work on heavy equipment ranging from full machine overhauls to minor repairs (leaks, fluids, filters). Includes diagnosing problems, disassembling/reassembling machines, checking hydraulics and engines, dyno testing where available, and performing installations such as undercarriages and attachments. Participate in a 24-month apprenticeship with week-long training and on-the-job training; travel to jobsites and vendor training as needed; maintain safety and cleanliness in the service department; require physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in variable weather. Strong emphasis on communicating findings, using diagnostic software, and providing good customer service.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 year technical degree or comparable military training (preferred)
- minimum of 2 years’ experience in heavy equipment industry or related field
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Proficient with a computer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Diagnostic use using manufacturer-provided programs
- Must be able to pass a background, physical, and drug screen
