Job Summary
The Apprentice Service Technician will perform a wide range of repair tasks on equipment, from minor repairs to complete overhauls, including troubleshooting and diagnosing failures. Responsibilities include participating in a 24-month apprenticeship program, conducting diagnostics, disassembling and reassembling machines, maintaining a clean work environment, and traveling to job sites for training. Candidates should have strong communication skills and basic math abilities, experience in the heavy equipment sector, and the physical capability to lift heavy loads and work in various weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 year technical degree or comparable military training preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the heavy equipment industry or a related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Basic mathematical skills
- Proficient with computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions
- Ability to stoop, kneel, push, pull, twist and carry up to 70lbs
- Ability to climb and perform work at heights of 15 feet
- Capable of working with limited supervision
- Maintain excellent customer service
- Must pass background, physical, and drug screen
