Job Summary

Apprentice Quantity Surveyor in Southampton within AECOM’s cost management team. Roles span pre- and post-contract duties, including cost planning and estimating, attending design/client meetings, assisting senior staff, procuring works and tender management, and compiling contract documents; post-contract duties include site progress meetings, valuations, and financial reporting. Opportunities to work across public/private sector projects in commercial, education, residential, leisure, defence, and infrastructure sectors. The apprenticeship supports an academic pathway culminating in professional qualification (RICS). Requires GCSEs and predicted/obtained A-levels/BTEC/TECH qualifications, strong mathematical/analytical skills, ability to work in diverse teams, and a UK right to work. Hybrid/work location flexibility with in-office/on-site presence and an emphasis on professional development through the APC and related mentorship programmes.

Required Qualifications

  • Permanent right to work in the UK and/or Ireland (visa sponsorship not offered)
  • GCSE Mathematics & English at Grade 4/C or above
  • A-Level tariff points or equivalent (112 UCAS points, B-B-C or similar)
  • UK driving licence preferred
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team; strong organisational and communication skills
  • Willingness to engage in day-release academic pathway toward chartered status (RICS APC)
  • Desire to learn within construction/property industry
  • Proactive and driven approach to work
