Job Summary
Apprentice Pharmacy Technician - 5-month training program at Ochsner Health. The incumbent will learn and perform administration of care under supervision of a training instructor, complete 3,000 hours of on-the-job training, and participate in clinical rotations across the region. Upon completion, the apprentice is expected to pass the board-approved Pharmacy Technician certification exam in the state of practice. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and enrollment in a designated PTCB-accredited Pharmacy Technician training program within 30 days of hire, plus obtaining Pharmacy Technician Candidate registrations within 90 days of hire. Responsibilities include indirect/direct patient care duties, data entry, and adherence to privacy, regulatory standards, and company compliance programs. The role emphasizes computer skills, effective communication, and proficiency with Windows-based software. It is a full-time, on-site apprenticeship located in Slidell, LA and Bay St. Louis, MS with 3,000 hours of on-the-job training and defined course milestones throughout the program.
Required Qualifications
