Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment to transport, lift, and move derailed railway cars and locomotives for clearing railroad derailments. Drive tractor-trailer or escort vehicles while performing material handling of heavy steel chains, blocks, and cables. Execute maintenance, cleaning, and setup of equipment using cutting torches and welding tools. Perform digging, hammering, and physical work involving lifting objects up to 50 lbs. Work at heights over 25 feet on railroad cars, bridges, or over water. Maintain equipment through regular inspections. Work on-call 24/7/365 in an emergency response environment with 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday. Travel up to 50% of the time. Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with NO restrictions
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work on-call 24/7 365 days a year in an emergency response environment
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Ability to conduct maintenance inspections on equipment
- Ability to lift 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights over 25 feet on railroad cars; may be on bridges, over water, or in water
