Job Summary
Transport, operate, and service heavy equipment used in clearing railroad derailments by lifting and moving derailed railway cars and locomotives. Drive tractor-trailer or escort vehicles while performing material handling of heavy steel chains, blocks, and cables. Execute climbing, crawling, and digging tasks on and under derailed railroad cars, including maintenance, cleaning, and setup using cutting torches and welding tools. Lift objects up to 50 lbs with frequent carrying and work at heights over 25 feet on bridges or over water. Maintain equipment inspections and conduct physical work with various tools in an emergency response environment. Work on-call 24/7/365 with 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, traveling up to 50% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with NO restrictions
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work on-call 24/7 365 days a year in an emergency response environment
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Ability to conduct maintenance inspections on equipment
- Ability to lift 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights over 25 feet on railroad cars; may be on bridges, over water, or in water
