Job Summary
Assist experienced mechanics with routine maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics of heavy trucks and construction equipment. Learn to perform preventative maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid checks. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tool and parts inventory management. Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures in the shop and on job sites. Participate in technical training and education to develop mechanical skills and trade knowledge. Support the team in troubleshooting mechanical problems and repairing equipment under supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and handle heavy equipment
- Commitment to safety and following protocols
- Willingness to attend training and pursue certification in heavy-duty mechanics
- Valid driver's license is an asset
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting
