Job Summary
Conduct new construction, maintain, and repair overhead electrical distribution systems including poles, insulators, conductors, and related hardware. Perform rigorous physical labor outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and storm events. Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools while adhering to strict safety protocols, PPE use, and insulated protective cover procedures. Work outages, storms, and emergencies on call rotation, including weekends, holidays, and overtime. Travel long distances on short notice, including out-of-state assignments, while lifting and carrying materials up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days
- Willingness to travel long distances on short notice
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime
- Willingness to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation
- Comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential
- Understanding of when to wear personal protective equipment
- Ability to talk, listen and use hand signals to communicate
- Ability to stand
- Ability to walk
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle objects, operate tools or controls
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to work in extreme heat, cold, wet, windy, and storm conditions
- Ability to work in loud noise levels
- Ability to work with moving mechanical parts and vibration
- Ability to work with fumes or airborne particles
