Job Summary
Install primary protective cover, hang conductors with truck and blocks, and make connections to single-phase transformers. Perform apparatus grounding, take primary AMP readings, and transfer conductors using rigging, tensioners, and Kellum Grips. Dead-end, jumper, and string primary circuits while phasing circuits with phasing sticks. Operate switches, fuse, and trim trees as part of reconductor and lateral transfer projects. Work under direct supervision on energized primary circuits, completing tasks assigned in Step Three of the apprenticeship.
Required Qualifications
- Complete set of personal climbing gear
- Direct supervision by a Lineman or Foreman at the same physical location as the Apprentice (on the pole with, in the bucket with or adjacent to)
