Job Summary
Uphold the highest levels of safety on varied terrain in a fast-paced, potentially high-pressure environment. Arrive to work on time prepared for all duties, attend morning meetings, and clearly instruct assigned levels physically and verbally per the Instructor Guide. Supervise and assist children in your class at all times, including during lunch and snack times, while assisting lift attendants to properly load and unload children in accordance with the Kids on Lifts policy. Manage operational responsibilities for children's programs, including registration, directing guests to equipment fitting sources, and maintaining cleanliness of outdoor teaching areas. Communicate lesson content and progress with guardians and ensure the return of children to their identified guardians.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 15 years old
- Must be intermediate skier/snowboarder, parallel or linking turns on groomed blue terrain
- Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring and/or previous ski or snowboard instructor experience
- Experience working with children
- Available to work holidays and weekends
- Successfully complete mandatory on snow training
- Must be able to stand and walk on snow for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend, squat and lift 50 lbs
- Must have good guest service skills and work well in a team
- Ability to work in inclement weather in a mountain environment
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Spanish language is a plus
- PSIA/AASI Level I, Level II or Level III Certification is preferred
- USSA Certifications preferred
- Prior ski racing, freestyle background is a plus
- Considerations give to uncertified candidates with good skiing/riding skills, good communications skills, and enthusiasm for the sport with a passion for passing that on to others
