Apprentice HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary
Assist in a range of refrigeration and HVAC jobs for industrial and commercial customers by performing routine service activities, installation, inspection, maintenance, and repairs. Support specialized refrigeration equipment installs, troubleshooting, brazing, soldering, and refrigerant level checks while conducting pre-startup equipment adjustments. Communicate effectively with service customers, technicians, managers, and coordinators to accurately diagnose issues and accomplish tasks under direct oversight. Requires a valid TDLR and EPA card, current Texas operator's license, and ability to work non-standard schedules and extreme weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- enrolled in a post-secondary HVACR program of instruction of two or more years
- Good verbal and reading skills
- ability to read and apply manufacturers' instructions
- ability to clearly communicate with commercial customers, suppliers, and other Capstone Mechanical employees
- Physical ability to perform all duties noted above under the conditions, circumstances, and extreme weather conditions found in
- Interest and initiative in maintaining and advancing his or her HVACR skills through a combination of self-study, company training, manufacturers' workshops, and other professional development
- Current Texas operator's license
- ability to operate all vehicles in the corporate fleet within 30 days of initial employment
- ability to be insurable by current Capstone Mechanical insurance
- Ability to work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, weather, customer needs, and backlog
- Specialized knowledge to analyze and solve complex
- Continuous, concentrated mental and visual effort to plan and perform complex work
- Maintain a valid TDLR card
- Possess a valid EPA card
