Job Summary
Conduct daily HVAC diagnostics, service, and installation of condensing units, compressors, furnaces, and rooftop units under journeymen supervision. Assist with maintenance of ice machines, steam cookers, and refrigeration units while performing brazing and soldering tasks. Work in confined spaces and at heights up to 100 feet using aerial ladders or cat walks. Recover refrigerants and apply International and BOCA Mechanical Codes. Maintain proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting technical instructions. Work in variable environments including extreme cold, heat, and noise, with occasional travel to different school locations. Requires current Oklahoma Mechanical Apprentice license, refrigerant certification within one year, and availability for unscheduled emergency calls.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must clear all necessary criminal and vehicular background checks
- Must possess and maintain a current Oklahoma license for motor vehicles
- Must be available for unscheduled, emergency call
- Shall provide a reasonable method of communication during unscheduled emergency situations
- Currently licensed and in good standing as a Mechanical Apprentice with the following: Oklahoma State Department of Health Mechanical Division, City of Oklahoma City, City of Midwest City, and City of Del City
- Employee will be required to attend a Refrigerant Certification class and apply for refrigerant certification within one (1) year from date of employment
